Care & Maintenance Tips for STIHL Lawn Power Tools

The STIHL power tools that use fuel can handle 10% ethanol but no more than that because going over 10% would damage the tools with corrosion and by dislodging deposits and clogging the system. This may even affect the tool’s warranty. Since most of the gasoline fuel sold in the country contains ethanol, be sure to check with your vendor about the ethanol content. Some of the signs that your power tool is struggling because of too much ethanol are high idling, hard starts, and stalling.

If you need to cut wet grass, you have to wait for the water to recede to a point where you can walk on the grass without leaving footprints. Using the STILH tools on water-clogged lawns will damage your lawn and your equipment. It will also be dangerous if your tool is powered by electricity.
